B2C eCommerce Digital Transformation

Telefónica Germany

Telefónica Germany is the largest mobile provider in terms of customer base. Enabling people to use the achievements of digitalisation at any time and in any place. In so doing, they are accelerating their digital transformation.

What we needed to do

Established a framework of designs to enable reuse with every subsequent brand launch. This was accomplished through the creation of a White Label brand that comprehensively addresses all user journeys, enabling each brand to select the specific requirements they need. Our ultimate objective was to personalise all UI through our shared Design System library and CSS during the development phase.

Achieving this objective required a thorough exploration of the delivery process and the existing implementation strategy. We meticulously aligned product requirements within the program's landscape to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

As the transformation surged ahead, UI development commenced late in the program. By this time, functional UX and development had already been in progress for 10 months. Nonetheless, through strategic and process-driven UI implementation, we successfully closed the gap for delivery of our first brand as a cohesive team within the product environment.

What we achieved

Through continuous learning and refinement, we streamlined our global design system and processes, significantly reducing design delivery time for upcoming brands from months to mere weeks. With each brand launch, our accelerated process ensured early detection and rectification of any inconsistencies, facilitating seamless delivery.

Following the successful MVP launch of WhatsApp Sim Germany, we effectively bridged the gap between UX and UI. Our final product delivery comprised high-fidelity, developer-ready white label designs meticulously aligned across the wider program, XDS, and development teams for seamless implementation.

We devised comprehensive design and implementation strategies for UI, integrating team members into the scrum team alongside BA, SA, UX, and developers. Additionally, we incorporated product design into Jira, enhancing planning and providing greater visibility of tasks across the wider program.
